There are many reasons to choose a home business over a "traditional" business. This is just a brief commentary on why a home based business can be the right choice for many new and even experienced entrepreneurs.
From the time we are young we are being brought up in what I like to call the "job mentality". What I mean by this is that our parents, at least most of them, encourage us to enter into a traditional career.
Very few parents encourage their kids to be business owners and entrepreneurs and even fewer would ever tell their kids that a home based business would be a good idea. In fact, if I approached my parents and told them I was going to start a home based business they would have laughed and said that it was a stupid idea and that there was no such thing as a successful home based business owner.
Well I am here to tell you that I know plenty of people who have done extremely well financially in the home based business industry and they are proof positive that is can be done.
So why should you choose a home business over a traditional business or should you go a look for a "job"? I can tell you after having worked for others including as a school teacher in the public and private school system and being mercy to the whims of the parents and the administrators alike I will never go back to the shackles of a job. Yes, it was scary making the transition from the "safety and security" of my teaching job (it was neither by the way just ask all the teachers that can't find work right now).
Here are the top ten reasons to consider a home based business over a traditional job or business.
1. You keep all or most of what you earn
2. You get to make your own hours
3. There is little or no overhead and many home based business opportunities have a turn-key setup, many (including mine) handle all of the traditional hassles (payroll, credit card processing, marketing materials, training, website design and production etc.)
4. No jerky bosses! (unless you are really mean to yourself)
5. You get to work with the people you want to
6. Residual Income (many home business opportunities have a perpetual income payout after the initial sale)
7. You get to spend more time with your family (if you want to)
8. Unlimited Income Potential (in most cases the amount of money you can earn is limited only by your efforts)
9. Tax Benefits (consult your accountant on the potential write offs for a home based business)
10. You are in control - FREEDOM
There are many reasons to consider a home business and these are just a few. With any new business make sure you do your home work and that you are truly passionate about whatever product or service you will be representing.
